Your optometrist's role in the LASIK surgery process is as follows:

• Evaluate and counsel you about laser vision correction and other vision correction alternatives.
  
  
• Perform your pre-procedure testing and evaluation.
  
  
• Provide the LASIK Refractive surgeon with your eye history and target prescription.
  
  
• Provide 12 months of post operative care according to your progress.
  
  
• Communicate your post operative progress with your LASIK Refractive surgeon.
  
  
• Monitor the health of your eyes at your annual comprehensive eye exam.
